So I had a little bit of a mid-year crisis and I realised that I don’t think I’m living life enough *wow that got deep*. Over the past year I have been obsessively saving money preparing for my future when really life is happening right now and it is whizzing by me. I had this sudden feeling of dread like I’d look back on these years and regret not doing what I want.
Therefore, I made a mid-year resolution to go out and experience as much live entertainment as I can. I am realising that soon university will be over and I will have less opportunity to go out and see the shows that I want to see. Before real life takes over, I’m going to spend my money on what I want to do and right now, I want to go and see as much live entertainment as I can!
So, I thought I’d share the things I’m going to see over the next few months! This is my live calendar and I really hope you enjoy it! I’ve put on the list what I’m going to see and what I’m planning on buying tickets for soon.
Firstly, I am not just a fan of live music. I love theatre and I love going to see Drag Shows! I love tiny venues to HUGE venues. I love cheesy pop to edgy alternative. I am pretty easy when it comes to what I want to go see. As long as I’m entertained and the atmosphere I good – I’ll enjoy it. With me going to uni in Leeds and having easy access to Manchester etc. there is so much on offer from huge global acts to local ones!
What I’m Seeing!
Orla Gartland is an Irish singer/song writer who is a whizz on guitar. I first heard of her when she supported Dodie on tour a few year ago. When I listened to her song “I Go Crazy” I knew I had to see her live. Earlier this year she released her EP “Why Am I Like This?” and it is INSANE. Firstly, the cover art is glorious and the music even better. I am going to see Orla at a relatively small venue which I am looking forward too. She has a very loyal fanbase and I can’t wait to feel the excitement in the room whilst she plays. It’s going to be insane.
Scarlet Envy, Shuga Cain, Mercedes Iman Diamond
So, if you know me well, you’ll know I LOVE RuPaul’s Drag Race. I’m not just an average casual fan, however. Oh no no no… I’m obsessed. So when the opportunity came up to see and MEET these 3 stunning queens from season 11, I couldn’t say no. I am excited to meet and greet all three and then see them perform. They are touring with Klubs Kids an amazing drag entertainment production company and I can’t wait to experience the show!
Dear Evan Hansen
I am heading for a lovely Christmas Trip to London in December. The main reason is to go and see this Broadway transfer. Dear Evan Hansen is a musical about a young man getting involved in something he shouldn’t. It covers topics of death, social anxiety, and maturing. I can’t wait to see it. The songs are incredible and the story line heartbreaking.
Mabel is an up and coming pop icon. She has just released her debut album and is touring it in 2020. She has been dominating UK pop with absolute tunes over the past 2 years and I can’t wait to see them live. She is stunning and has such talent. She came to Leeds last year in a much smaller venue and I missed out on tickets so I was in the queue as soon as they were released. Mabel is trying to break into the US right now and I can’t wait to see how massive she’s going to become. This time in 2 years she’ll be selling out arena tours wait and see.
Tickets I Want!
Katya and the Comedy Queens
Heels of Hell
So there you have it! This is just a small selection of the things I want to see. I haven’t included any of the musicals I am dying to see, there are a few more drag shows, some club nights and a tonne of other stuff! The rest of 2019 and 2020 are going to be my years to see what I want and I encourage every one of you guys to do the same!
